*After looking thru ZW's post... it really set me thinking...
Many of my friends asked me, what the point of going through all the process and work, while the end result of the bid might not be the desirable.
Yes, so true many a times we would want to start something focus, expecting a glorious happy ending, yet contrary the ending is something rather ordinary, or worse off, total failure.
And the fact that Singapore has lack the experience in hosting a multi-sport event in the magnitude of the Olympics and how can she holding her stand with/ against Moscow... who is many times more experience, professionals than us in hosting International sports games. But I guess the Results don’t really matter; in fact it is the courage to compete for the bid with the other top nations in the world that we emerge, we shine!!
Singapore maybe a small nation, but our valor and boldness, fervency and perseverance is something that even a larger nation such as China, India looked upon us as a model of development.
The fact that Singapore does not have a track record in organizing such a big international sports event but emerged within the bid as one of the 2 top cities is more impressive then even.
